Don't try this at home PDF Print E-mail

The other day I was itching to do some burpees (I know, crazy). I was thinking of seeing just how many I could do, but then I figured in 10 minutes I could do 100 easy just averaging 10/minute, which didn't sound challenging since I was in the mood to realy push it.

For some wierd reason I decided to do snatches(24k bell) and burpees in a really nasty cross ladder.

Snatches 25 R&L, burpees 1

Snatches 24 R&L, burpees 2

Snatches 23 R&L, burpees 3.....

etc ad nauseum until

Snatches 1 R&L, burpees 25

It only took me 1:59:50 (yes almost 2 hrs). That's 325 snatches each arm & 325 burpees - full ones dropping into the bottom of a pushup and jumping with arms overhead coming off the floor.

I was hampered mostly by my hands getting ripped up at about 19 snatches per arm. I haven't been doing much high volume snatches lately so my hands aren't used to it.

Other than that it was about 7.5 out of 10 in terms of percieved exertion.

Two days later & I'm a bit sore in some odd places but overall feel pretty good.

This was a test type of workout, don't do this often. I probably won't do it agin for at least 6 months.
